As the efficiency and effectiveness of a manual sleeve valve depends on the quality and ability of the sleeve to meet the required material processing application, users must be familiar with the types of sleeves available. Whether their processing material application is related to chemical manufacturing or engineering, will determine which type of sleeve will best meet their specific needs.
Full port valves are used when there is a requirement of free flow rate of fluids. This valve has an oversized ball with a big hole to allow huge quantities to flow through it. But when there is a requirement of high pressure in the flow, reduced port valves are preferred. A common example is the pipe heads that are used for a car wash. As we require pressure in water flow, this type of valve is used in them. Trunnion ball valves have a disc or anchoring above and below the valve generally suitably when there is a large and high pressure flow rate requirement.
Within a manual operated rubber valve, there are three basic design components; the body, disc and cover. With a specialized rubber casing, the valve offers, to all intents and purposes, a service to users that is maintenance free without distortion of the valve disc and seat. If compared to conventional check valves, a manual rubber valve will be found to operate for longer periods with minimal downtime.
Valves have been playing a major role in the transportation of fluids in various industries like oil and petrochemicals, pharmaceutical industries and food and beverage industries and have become vital parts of many types of machinery too.
Nowadays, positioners are used with the majority of control valve applications. If the sealability is not good or the strength is not intensive, the parts may be destroyed. Thus, it will result in the economic loss in different degree, such as transporting the poisonous, explosive or corrosive fluid. And even it will lead to the serious accident. In order to ensure the sealing and strength of the valve, the manufacture should not only obey the related standards to design and produce the product but also should properly select the material.
