The fourth one is the disk valve which is also known as swing check valve. It operates in the same manner as ball and cone valves, but the plug that settles over the opening is a disk. Disk and cone valves tend to wear down more because they have more moving parts and because they get bumped around on top of the flow of water when it is turned on.
With the increase of the steam flow rate and pressure, the plug valve can not satisfy the number of steam admission and exhaustion at all. Later, because of the rapid development of power industry, oil industry, chemical industry and shipbuilding industry, all kinds of high or middle valves sprang up like mushrooms. What's more, after the Second World War, owning to the invention of new materials such as polymeric material, stainless steel, lubricating material, the old plug valve and butterfly valve gain the new application and the ball valve and diaphragm valve develop quickly.
There are many types of ball valves that are extensively used in various industries depending upon their designs, sizes and pressure handling capacities. Full port, reduced port, cavity filler, V port, trunnion ball valves and multiport valves are the common ones.
Many people usually get motivated to get titanium valves because they want to increase the maximum revolutions per minute that they get.
